Are your books up to date?

How often do you update your books? Do you manage it yourself or use a bookkeeping service? If you manage it yourself, do you employ bookkeepers or do it yourself? The way your bookkeeping is done actually determines the frequency of bookkeeping updates.

If your business is small, you may not have an in-house bookkeeper but use a CPA or a bookkeeping service. When you use a bookkeeping service, you take all your receipts and bank statements to them in a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. Because of that, your books are not kept up to date at any of point of time other than at the end of the year.
